Resumen : This chapter focuses on China´s financial involvement in Argentina during 2000-2018, though the bulk of investments startedto arrive in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.  This chapter organizes around three main sections, followed byconclusions. The first section evaluates the bilateral swap agreements scheme, trying to explain why China has become an enthusiastic supporter of it. Argentina, a devoted partner, has becomea leading example of the benefits generated by such a deal. Inthe second section, attention turns to Chinese loans, and whyArgentina has become a primary beneficiary of them. Finally, weask whether Chinese financial assistance influences the bilateralrelationship and if we can observe a “Chinese debt trap”.
