Abstract
This project will aim at promoting adolescents’ access to sexual and reproductive health information and contraceptive access through the development of an application that allows information access to contraceptives including points of delivery and gathers crowdsourced data related to quality of SRH services. In this way, it should strengthen agency of young people with regards to their sexual and reproductive health (SRH) decisions and behaviors. Specific objectives of the project are: 1. Design and implement a mobile application for adolescents on SRRH and contraceptives; 2. Provide access to geo-referenced information of SRH services and contraceptive delivery points, FAQ on contraceptives with emphasis on long acting reversible contraceptive methods (LARC); 3. Provide a crowdsourcing platform to promote adolescents’ agency and foster accountability. It is expected that an ongoing online participatory process that collects and organizes information on SRH services for adolescents through a user-friendly app, will result in better access to services, improvements in contraceptive adherence and promotion of adolescents participation. Additionally, it is expected that results will produce evidence on the use of technology as a way to provide user-friendly information, foster participation and promote accountability of public policies that could be replicated at national and regional levels.
